It is the common ambition of all good-hearted people to try to be of use to their family, community, society and the world at large. While service is recognized to be the higher vocation of mankind, we find that in practice many questions remain unanswered. Questions such as: What exactly is meant by service? What should be one's attitude while serving others? How to become capable of that most self-fulfilling practice of service Above Self? In this short address to the members of Rotary Club, Swami Chinmayananada brilliantly answers these questions with unequalled verve and wit and communicates in the same breath the very core and spirit of the Philosophy of Vedanta. In this talk, Swamiji efforlessly reveals, through humour and strikingly vivid examples, the treasure and glory of Indian Culture, which is enclosed in its non-dual philosophy. Swami Chinmayananda is a world famous spiritual master of the 20th century and a great proponent of Advaita Vedanta. With his unmatched oratory skills, he has reintroduced India's ancient wisdom to countless individuals around the world, thus guiding them towards a more fruitful and meaningful life and spreading the awareness of the relevance of Vedanta to the current world situation.
