Product Description

Do your emotions control you, or do you control them?

Modern life can be overwhelming. We often ignore our feelings and push them down just to get through the day. But when we can no longer suppress them, they consume us – fear traps us in uncertainty, anger burns us and jealousy festers into self-doubt. Even the emotions that seem positive – pride, happiness, love, gratitude – can lead us into an over-reliance on worldly attachments.

It’s natural to feel helpless when emotions gather like dark clouds, blocking out our inner light. But the ancient scriptures offer a beautiful insight: you are not the storm. You are the sky. Clouds inevitably pass, but the sky remains untouched – vast and free. In this transformative guide, Swami Swaroopananda, renowned teacher, scholar and Global Head of Chinmaya Mission, shows us how we can take control of our feelings and find equanimity in our lives. The simple lessons offered in the book bridge the gap between timeless Vedantic insight and contemporary psychology, helping us find peace and live our best life.

Each chapter in the book dives into a core emotion – anger, jealousy, guilt, love, sadness and more – inviting you to pause, reflect and reconnect with something deeper within you. You Are The Sky provides a roadmap for everyone. Exploring the nature of our innermost Self and the mind, it offers a universal path toward lasting clarity and fulfilment for the modern seeker.

Unlock the path to true happiness, embrace life’s chaos and be as free as the sky.

Raised in a lively, creative family, his early interests straddled business and economics, yet he was drawn deeply toward spiritual seeking. The clarity of Swami Chinmayananda’s commentary on the Bhagavad Gita captured his heart, leading him to join the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK), the youth wing of the Mission. He entered the Residential Vedanta Course in Mumbai under Swami Tejomayananda’s guidance and in 1992, he was initiated into sannyasa, receiving the name Swami Swaroopananda.

From early service in the Far East, including in Hong Kong and the South East Asian region, he has blended reverence for traditional Vedanta with relevance to today’s world. Under his leadership, the Mission has expanded its reach in youth work, education, family camps and spiritual outreach. He is the visionary behind the “Make It Happen™” course, a life-transforming programme that has empowered thousands worldwide to break limitations, unlock inner strength and translate dreams into reality.

With his unique blend of Vedantic wisdom and practical guidance, Swamiji inspires us not just to think of change but to make it happen in our health, our work, and our spiritual growth. In addition he has authored several books, including Storm to Perform, Ik Onkar and Journey into Health.

Swami Swaroopananda is known for bringing Vedanta into everyday life with insight, compassion and energy. Whether speaking with students, professionals, or spiritual seekers across cultures, his message is practical and transformative. As both teacher and guide, he continues to carry forward the lineage upholding the clarity, devotion and service that has always defined Chinmaya Mission.
